BIO
Jule Hermann
Jule Hermann is a documentary filmmaker and producer whose work is defined by a deep-seated belief in the power of mindful, purposeful storytelling. A graduate of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, she currently works as the Impact Production Lead at Splicer Films. Her "full-cycle" approach often finds her moving seamlessly between roles as Producer, Director of Photography and Lead Editor, most notably on projects like Critter Encounters and Magical Bridge.
Jule’s career began with a unique foundation in PR and crisis management for the German Red Cross in Berlin. This experience instilled in her a rare operational discipline and the ability to lead teams under high-pressure conditions—skills she now applies to managing complex production cycles. Her background also includes work with the Los Angeles Times Studios, where she focused on film curation and social media edits, cutting behind-the-scenes reels and trailers to promote documentary acquisitions and elevate their reach through high-impact promotional content.
While she is an advocate for utilizing AI-augmented tools to streamline the logistical heavy lifting of production, she does so with a singular goal: to protect the time and space required for the creativity of filmmaking. Her work is ultimately a pursuit of connection, using mindful and purposeful visuals to bridge the gap between complex issues and genuine human empathy.
